Nova Scotia’s dramatic coastline provides the backdrop for some of Canada’s most acclaimed golf courses. Cabot Links (#5 public course in Canada, SCOREGolf, 2023) and Cabot Cliffs (#1 public course in Canada, 2023), consistently ranked among the world’s best, offer unparalleled oceanfront experiences.
Other can’t miss golf courses include the Stanley Thompson gem Cape Breton Highlands Links (#12 public course in Canada, 2023) and Fox Harb’r Resort, from the dining to accommodations to golf (ranked #39 public course in Canada), one of the absolute best.
Beyond golf, explore the charming town of Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, enjoy the vibrancy of one of the best cities in Canada in Halifax, crack into fresh lobster at a local culinary hotspot, or embark on whale-watching tours in the Bay of Fundy.

Muskoka has more golf courses ranked in the SCOREGolf rankings than any other destination in the country. Cottage Country to one of the world’s premier cities in Toronto, there really is an embarrassment of riches in Muskoka when it comes to top ranked golf.
Muskoka golf is its own style unlike anything you have played before. Where you can easily distinguish between Desert Golf in Nevada, Mountain Golf in the Canadian Rockies, Links Golf in Nova Scotia, Muskoka has forged its own category, Canadian Shield Golf, or just Muskoka Golf. World class designers like Carrick and McBroom took a canvas of rugged Canadian landscape characterized by dramatic granite outcroppings from the once grand Canadian Shield mountains, boldly working them into their designs. Muskoka Golf is dramatic, stunning, intriguing, and one of a kind.
Muskoka’s top ranked course, and the highest ranked public course in Ontario, ranked #7 public golf course in Canada (SCOREGolf, 2023), Muskoka Bay Resort is the crown jewel of the region. Bigwin Island (#40 ranked golf course in Canada, SCOREGolf 2024) is one of the coolest golf experiences you’ll ever have, literally playing on an Island. The list goes on and on, one after another, with top ranked, must-play golf courses.

#3 – Alberta Rocky Mountains
Image: One of the legend Stanley Thompson’s top courses, ranked #4 public golf course in Canada (SCOREGolf, 2023), Banff Springs
Nothing compares to teeing it up in the Mountains. Blasting a drive into the crisp mountain air with a backdrop of the enormous Rocky Mountains is humbling and inspiring at the same time. The experience of the Mountains is undeniably one of the best golf experiences in Canada, and should be on every passionate golfer’s bucket-list.
With half a dozen premier golf courses to tee it up in the mountains and a cluster of golf courses all within an hour of each other, a Rocky Mountain golf tour can truly feel like it is not of this world. From Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course (ranked #4 public course in Canada, SCOREGolf, 2023), the undeniable best in the west Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Golf (ranked #3 public course in Canada, SCOREGolf, 2023), to rounds at Stewart Creek (ranked #12 public course in Canada, SCOREGolf, 2023). Silvertip (ranked #43 public course in Canada, SCOREGolf, 2023) and the 2 golf courses in Kananaskis (ranked #17 and #25 public courses in Canada, SCOREGolf, 2023), they make it easy to tee it up at Canada’s best.

#4 – PEI
Image: The top ranked golf course on the Island, The Links at Crowbush Cove, was ranked #14 public course in Canada (SCOREGolf, 2023)
It is a little difficult to pinpoint what makes Prince Edward Island (PEI) one of the top golf destinations in the country. The golf is exceptional, so by default, it is already deserving of the ranking.
What is difficult to describe, but always referenced from clients, is the feeling of a PEI golf trip. There is no place on earth more welcoming than PEI; the hospitality, the friendliness, the pace of life (“Island Time”), charming is the best word to describe PEI as a destination. Now pair this charming destination with the world-class golf and you have a golf trip that will forever be remembered as one of your all-time favourites. The golf courses on the island are well suited for golfers of all skill levels, so it’s a great option for a buddies, family, or couples getaway.
Beyond golf, indulge in fresh seafood, explore the island’s lighthouses and beaches, or delve into the history of Anne of Green Gables. The Island is relatively small (224km long and 64km wide), so everything you want to explore is just a quick drive away.

Known as one of the top winter ski destinations in North America, it has quickly become one of the top golf destinations in Canada with four highly ranked golf courses to tee it up at, each designed by a prolific designer
Aside from the acclaimed golf, Whistler Village is a special place, taking the mantle for being the most fun golf destinations in Canada.
